These are my maternal grandparents. I believe that they both moved to LaPorte from South Carolina in the 20's. 

Jim Sr. was a crane operator, master fisherman and hunter, and a heck of a poker player.

Donnie was a devoted mother, devout Baptist, and worked non-stop at home cooking from scratch and caring for 5 children.
